    Ellijay Wood Fired Pizza opened up in November of 2018 and is located at the corner of River Street and Main Street, anchoring the square in downtown Ellijay. Since then, the wood fired oven from Naples, Italy has been serving authentic old world pizza using only the highest quality and locally sourced ingredients.

  • TUMBLING WATERS TRAIL, ELLIJAY, GA

    Come explore one of North Georgia's local favorite trail, the Tumbling Waters Trail, just North of Carters Lake. Its relative ease makes it great for the family and on the hottest days you will enjoy a dip in the refreshing and scenic waters.

    Just North of Carters Lake lies one of its tributaries, Tails Creek. The Tumbling Waters Trail follows along a scenic stretch of this creek as it cascades its way towards the lake. This trail is moderately trafficked and considered a local favorite.

  • PINHOTI TRAIL, ELLIJAY, GA

    October through March would be the best time to hike as the weather is cooler and the bugs are mostly gone. The trail is hiked year-round but late spring and into early fall generally bring high temperatures and water can be harder to find.

  • FORT MOUNTAIN STATE PARK

    A scenic drive on Highway 52 near the Cohutta Wilderness leads visitors to this mountain getaway. Hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders will find some of the most beautiful trails in Georgia, winding through hardwood forest and blueberry thickets, crossing streams and circling a pretty lake. Hikers can also explore a stone fire tower built by the Civilian Conservation Corps and an ancient rock wall which stand on the highest point of the mountain. The mysterious 855-foot-long wall is thought to have been built by early Indians as fortification against more hostile Indians or for ancient ceremonies.

    During summer, visitors can cool off on a lakeside beach. Park guests may stay overnight in fully equipped cottages, a campground or backpacking sites. Campers without a tent may prefer to rent covered platform sites

    Team Cartecay is 501(c)3 youth development program that emphasizes fun, fitness, safety, and the value of each individual.

    North Georgia’s hidden gem is a public golf course located 5 miles north of Ellijay, Georgia; just 1 1/2 hours north of Atlanta. The golf course itself is a reflection of the mountains which surround it. The 8 acre Whitepath Lake and the Ellijay River highlight several other creeks and ponds spread out along the course.

    Designed by Rocky Roquemore and Joe Lee, the course is challenging to the low handicap golfer, yet friendly to those with higher handicaps. Whitepath Golf Club is truly a golf enthusiast's dream.

  • GEORGIA APPLE FESTIVAL, ELLIJAY, GA

    For 52 fun-filled years, the Georgia Apple Festival has brought two exciting weekends in October to Gilmer County. Ellijay and East Ellijay hosts hundreds of vendors with handmade, hand-crafted items, on-site demonstrations, live music, and delicious fair food.

    The festival is named after the ripening apples that you can find all over the area at local orchards. Despite its growth from a small arts & crafts show to the four-day event that it has become today, the Georgia Apple Festival continues to be a big show with a small-town feel.
