The Crossroads Challenge: Map Your Journey to Success and Discover Your Best Future is a scholarship I am offering, along with several business partners, to all high school seniors in Gilmer County, including public, private, and homeschool students residing in Gilmer County, GA. This scholarship invites students to reflect on their futures by writing an essay about their crossroads, potential paths, and the mentors who have shaped their journey. It encourages self-reflection while recognizing the value of mentorship and community support.
Rules & Guidelines
must be graduating high school around May 2025
must be a resident of Gilmer County
parents/legal guardian must register their student on this website (below) and attest that the student is graduating with reference to appropriate school contact (principal/guidance counselor)
must submit a 2 page essay describing the crossroads the student is finding themselves at and describe the best path forward
must mention a mentor the student has valued over the years or recently
There will be 5 judges. Julia Krusac will be a judge along with 4 local leaders in the following fields law enforcement, high school staff, government official Karen Henson with Planning and Zoning and a pastor, Seth Teegarden..
Essays must be submitted by April 1st, and will be judged by April 10th.
